Welcome to our annual calendar fundraiser by Sông2Sea! Our 2026 calendar celebrates the Year of the Horse —an animal representing courage, independence, and determination in the Vietnamese zodiac. We are inspired by the energetic spirit of the horse and humbled by the reminder that there is a long road ahead towards liberation for all oppressed people of the world. 

These two proverbs inspire our calendar theme: 

• “Ngựa hay không sợ đường dài,” which translates to “A capable horse is not afraid of the long road.” 

• “Một con ngựa đau, cả tàu bỏ cỏ,” which literally translates to “When one horse is sick, the entire herd stops eating,” and speaks to the solidarity of feeling one another’s pain as our own.

The road towards liberation may be long and arduous, filled with challenges, setbacks, and hardships. It is also on this very road that we forge our strength, resilience, and unity. It is through solidarity and disciplined organizing that we can pave a path towards our liberation.  

Our calendar’s design is inspired by Đông Hồ folk woodcuts, an art style originally displayed at Lunar New Year and later repurposed by anticolonial movements to arouse patriotism and popular resistance. In that same spirit, we invite you to join us in the ongoing struggle for a more just and liberated world.
